The administrators of the City of Toledo's 1% for Public Art Program, the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo (ACGT), in partnership with the Downtown Toledo Improvement District, Inc., SFC Graphics, Owens Community College, and the City of Toledo designed a public art project beautifying downtown storefronts with the artwork of local artists and designers.
The first phase of this project was an invitational exhibition of artwork created by local and regional graphic designers based upon their perceptions of the theme Toledo. Designers were asked to deliver a positive visual impact of our city while creating interest and improving the downtown experience.
This phase is also designed to serve as a pilot program to encourage the participation of building owners and businesses in transforming the downtown into a walkable gallery.
Participating designers in this Madison Building phase of the Downtown Windows Project are: Tyler Fortney, Alana Twelmeyer, Michael J. Paulus, Joe Pinciotti, Dustin Hostetler, Jemma Hostetler, Matt and Karen Davis, Amy Fidler and Jenn Stucker, Imani Lateef, and Brian Heady.
