BINGE : 2019 Television Poster Show
A (late) summer poster exhibition
Put on your cozy pants, fire up your favorite show, and get ready to BINGE! AIGA Toledo presents a new season of our annual poster show featuring work inspired by our most beloved television series. As designers, we believe that creating shared cultural experiences unites people of all backgrounds. Television shows have created a cultural shift in the ways that stories can be told, and how we react to them. Whether we’re gathered together with family and friends, or enjoying shows we hate to love, these stories become a part of our story. From the comfort of our own homes we can travel across time and space to immerse ourselves in richly layered stories that captivate our attention so well, waiting for the next episode in 15 seconds feels like an eternity. It’s the golden age of television for a reason and we’re going to celebrate it! Pay homage to all the amazing television series past and present that add depth to our cultural lives.
Consider the format of television shows and how they have changed — as a new medium — creative ways the companies are advertising these shows. What is it that draws you into your favorite show? Maybe there’s that one moment that just sticks with you? What does the felt experience look like? We want to see your personal interpretation of your favorite show.
